Key Initiatives Unveiled at ET Digital UP Conclave 2025, ET Government
LUCKNOW: At the ET Digital UP Conclave 2025, held on May 23 in Lucknow, Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary of Planning, Programme Implementation & Science and Technology for Uttar Pradesh, highlighted the state’s strategic initiatives to monitor and drive progress toward its one trillion-dollar economy (OTD) objective.
Recognizing the state’s regional diversity, Uttar Pradesh has established OTD cells at both state and district levels to ensure coordinated efforts across departments. These cells have set district-specific targets focusing on investments, credit flow, and project execution.
To enhance data accuracy, the state has completed detailed surveys in four key districts, capturing information on labor force participation, unincorporated enterprises, and gross value added per worker. Additional surveys are underway to assess tourism impacts and horticulture output.
Kumar emphasized continuous improvements in estimating gross district domestic product (GDDP), benchmarking methods with five other states, and employing over 25 indicators to refine estimates. A comprehensive 75-district survey is scheduled to begin in July 2025.
These efforts aim to provide a structured framework for inclusive industrial, infrastructural, and social development across the state, ultimately improving the overall quality of life for its residents.
