In a separate meeting with the Civil Aviation Minister, Khaunte highlighted the urgent need to enhance international direct connectivity to Goa and address challenges in domestic air route economics. He advocated for fair pricing structures on domestic sectors and expanded global links from key source markets to ensure Goa remains accessible and competitive throughout the year.

“Goa is not just a destination; it’s a cultural emotion. By building a concert economy and strengthening aviation linkages, we aim to make Goa globally accessible while preserving its soul,” said Khaunte. “Our discussions today reflected a shared commitment between the Centre and the State to work together on building a tourism framework that is experiential, sustainable, and globally connected.”

The meetings were attended by senior Goa tourism officials, including Sanjeev Ahuja, Secretary (Tourism) and Shawn Mendes, Officer on Special Duty to the Tourism Minister.

Both Union Ministers acknowledged Goa’s proactive stance and assured continued support in aligning state initiatives with national tourism and aviation policies. The coordinated efforts signal a forward-looking roadmap aimed at positioning Goa as a global tourism hub rooted in sustainability, culture, and seamless connectivity.
