IPL 2025: Is CSK eliminated after losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad?

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fell to its seventh reverse of the Indian Premier League 2025 when it lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Friday.

CSK now languishes at the bottom of the points table with just four points from nine games. However, CSK is still not eliminated from the race to the Playoffs. It needs to win its remaining five games and hope other results go its way.

The MS Dhoni-led team has can reach a maximum of 14 points, and will need a strong Net Run Rate to make it to the next stage.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (in 2024) is the only team to qualify for the Playoffs with 14 points since the league was expanded to 10 teams.
